I asked the Lord today for me to have the words of life like Him. But when I wanted words of life for my wife I thought, “ that is not what I want. I want her to seek Christ not me and if I give her words of life she might seek me and that is not what I seek” Because words of Life are strong and powerful. So the Lord said, “you did not ask right, ask again.” So I said, “Lord let me speak the words of life like you so when I speak people seek you”. Then I thought about that and realized that it is not the seeking of Christ I want them to have, because that doesn’t guarantee they will find Him. So the Lord said, “you did not ask right, ask again.” So I said, “Lord when I speak give to me the words of Life so that the people will find you.” YES! That was it. That is what I wanted!!!!!
Some folks are into studying books to be like great people. Some look at great people of this earth and say I want to know how they did that and maybe I can copy that. But that is not me. There is only 1 time and only 1 time in all the heavens where you can be into yourself and that is the relationship of God on the inside of you. I am into me and Jesus being in me. I don’t seek to read about great men and how they became great. I seek the one inside of me to make me like Him………that will make me great. When can I be into me? When Jesus is loving me………everyday. The Lord is working with me. I love it. Me and Him, loving and getting into me all about me so I can be like Him.
Do you seek greatness? Do you seek to study great men, even great men of God? I want to get wrapped up in me and Jesus and Him living in me 24/7. That is the purpose of God in me. God wants to make me great by Jesus showing himself in my life. I say me and you Lord, me and You. The greatest thing that will happen today is to have God in your life. Now some folks go onto the next point quickly about the reason God does all this with you is so, He can (through you) refresh others, heal others, feed others, deliver others. But when He is in you and you are thrilled about him and you and just HIM & YOU, it will flow out of you like rivers of living water. You won’t have to worry about am I giving him out to others……..you couldn’t hold back the waters my friend!
I find when you concentrate on the giving part of this scenario that it falls apart. You try to feed others, you try to deliver others, you try to refresh others when all along it is you who needs refreshing. Get into God and you and all things will work out for you. It’s all about you and Him. Not you and everyone else. If God doesn’t make you happy He will never(through you) make others happy. That is not a sacrificing life like some claim. They say it doesn’t matter if your happy we are laying down our lives for God. But if you aren’t happy and have joy in your life how will God work through you? Through your misery? Even Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before him.
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
God and Me that is what it is all about. But you will say but giving is everything it is the most important thing. WRONG (can’t give what you haven’t got, so some one had to give to you first, that was God). Getting from God is everything. Jesus couldn’t do one thing of Himself. He got it all from the Father. So what does that tell us? If you aren’t getting from God you can’t give anything! I don’t think you will even think about giving when God pours on you His giving…you couldn’t hold it back. The problem lies in us not being poured upon from Him. If he pours out on you, then you couldn’t hold it back, but if you just get a trickle then you are like a little tiny brook…it won’t be long for the masses drink you up and dry you out and leave you.
Jesus wants our lives to be full in Him. Are we to beget other sheep into the fold who are to beget other sheep into the fold who will beget other sheep into the fold and we are all miserable? NO! I say our relationship is always first! There is no giving sacrificing or any other thing you can do to win God’s approval. Just believe he loves you and enjoy the greatness of His salvation today. That is what springs forth our love, that is what makes our giving spring forth, That is what makes us love our enemies. It is not us trying to do such things.
It is that wonderful grace shed in our hearts that makes us do these things. But if you shut that door and remember not that the Lord wants to show you how much He loves you everyday and you run off to do something……..tell me how will you have the energy to believe and stand fast? It is His love that set us free. Him and Me! That is what it is all about. Then your giving will spring forth from this….then you won’t need another 7 effective steps sermon …you will have found the answer forever…
