Prayer 3 Answered

Prayer 3 answer 8/13/01 1:44 PM

2 Chronicles 15:7-8 But you be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.

There was turmoil and NO peace all around with wars and fighting, but God told him He set this in motion and look to Him for their help. Just like today not one thing is different. Troubled by every thing on every side and God wants peace in our hearts.
Asa is told the Lord is with him IF he is with the Lord and that the Lord will forsake him IF he forsakes the Lord. God help us to be strong when we are not. When our flesh fails revive us Lord. It says that Asa took courage when God said this to him.
God is kind to always speak a helping, healing word to his servants. He wants to help them they would be unhappy without Him. God is trying with me and I thank Him that He does not quit when I know He should…Bless His Holy name

2 Chronicles 16:12 and in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet, until his disease was very grievous. Yet in his disease he did not seek to Jehovah, but to the physicians.

I notice God wanted him to seek him first. He left God out in His affliction. Like so many who go any where but not God.
Song of Solomon 5:2 I sleep, but my heart is awake. It is the sound of my Beloved that knocks, saying, Open to Me, My sister, My love, My dove, My undefiled; for My head is filled with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.
The Lord shows here of a man willing to get wet for his lover. Like a shepherd getting dirty working his flocks. The shepherd must get down with the sheep. Not stand afar off and watch, but pick them up when need be even if he gets dirty from their wool.

Song of Solomon 5:3 I have put off My coat; How shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?

Here we see that getting up to meet the Lord inconveniences the lover. Like us today having done what we needed God shows up at a weird time to come a calling. But He is in love and can’t help Himself. Why we are like the adult saying you can’t come at this time it is inappropriate? Like the little teenager who sneaks around in the night. Here we see that God is indeed strange and peculiar. Wanting us to be grown up yet act like young lovers at the right time. Go figure. This I do find though. That God does want us to be humble at his beckoned call and not think of it as a hard labor but lovers working together in a garden.
